Let’s get chip-faced.
In 2018 the newest taco hotspot arrived in New Orleans, with NOLA Cantina opening on the highly-trafficked nightlife corner of Frenchmen St. and Esplanade Ave. The “Taco Bar” now sits on Frenchmen Street, the premier street for late-night concerts, boasting a variety of established restaurants. NOLA Cantina provides bar hoppers with a modern take on street tacos, unique margaritas and cocktails. The restaurant offers live music and tropical outdoor seating as well as a stylish lounge.
Our challenge was to develop a new brand that would appeal to Frenchmen Street revelers. The brand needed to fit in and appear “local,” as Frenchmen Street is trafficked by both New Orleanians and tourists looking for an authentic New Orleans travel experience.
Our solution was to create a vibrantly-colored, funky brand to attract taco lovers of all ages, through their website, social media content, and marketing collateral. We sprinkled custom illustrations (see: tantalizing animations) throughout all of their printed and digital materials. The kooky skeleton characters we illustrated help to evoke the eccentric, spooky vibe of Frenchmen Street. High-quality, colorful photos and playful language maintain a fun vibe throughout.
